Microblading

Longer-Lasting, Fuller Eyebrows

Microblading provides you with a flawless, fuller and darker-looking eyebrows that last a long time! It uses a relatively new method of permanent makeup, providing a very natural-looking brow compared to a tattoo.

Beautiful hair strokes or shaded eyebrows are what really set Brows by Megan & Co. the very best microblading studio in Indianapolis.

 What Exactly is Microblading?

Microblading is the process of darkening and filling your natural eyebrows by applying a semi-permanent tattoo directly onto the brow. You'll receive a small bit of anesthetic to minimize discomfort, and experience a tiny needle that carefully etches pigment into the skin.

Not everyone has the time, money, or patience to keep up with the frequency of maintaining eyebrow extensions. Microblading needs minimal maintenance and can last for years.

It's great for those who experience thinning hair or various medical treatments that affect hair growth. It's a minimally painful, and minimally expensive way to ensure that you always look great!

Microblading Aftercare

Follow these instructions for the first 14 days:
* Apply balm as per advice from your therapist: twice a day for dry skin, once a day for normal skin, and no ointment for oily skin clients.
* You can wet a Q-tip every other day and gently wipe the brow to gently cleanse the area from old ointment before you apply new.
* No makeup or skincare products directly on your new PMU/ z Microblading.
* Do not wet/ soak your PMU/ Microblading.
* Avoid excessive exercising for the first 7 days as sweat can contribute to poor retention.
* Avoid swimming, sauna, steam rooms, and sun beds.
* If any scabbing occurs, allow to shed naturally without picking.
* Avoid touching the area. If itch occurs, gently tap to release the itch.
* When using a towel or cotton to dry, just pat without rubbing the area. It is normal to see some color come off.
* It’s best to wash your face at the sink or use a makeup wipe to avoid excessive water to the brow while showering.
* It’s normal to experience loss of pigment/bare spots in sections throughout the healing process. This is common days 9-15 and is part of the healing as the pigment is absorbed in the deep layers of the skin.

Follow these instructions indefinitely for best long term results:
* Always avoid direct sun exposure to prevent color fade. Protect your PMU or microblading using sunscreen. SPF 50 sunscreen sticks (the ones for kids) are recommended.
* You must avoid skincare products that encourage cellular renewal (retinol), brightening & lightening of the skin (vit C./tretinoin), and all chemical exfoliating products (aha, bha, salicylic, glycolic, lactic, citric etc). Physical exfoliants (scrubs or enzymes) are recommended but avoid applying directly on the brows. PLEASE CHECK YOUR INGREDIENTS, EVEN YOUR SPF! Vitamin C=ascorbic acid and it also may be in the form of lemon, citrus, lime, limonene, citronellol. Retinol=Vit. A. If you must use any of these products please use only from the cheeks down and no more than 1x/week
* Regular chemical peels should be avoided. Laser treatments are fine but it is recommended to cover the eyebrow with a cloth of some kind. For peels, just avoid the forehead and limit frequency
* When you notice that the results are fading significantly (40-50%) and you are in need of color boost, contact us to schedule your session. Rejuvenations are recommended every 1-2 years but can vary for your skin type.

Product recommendations:
Some Kiehl’s, La roche Posay (toleriane moisturizer, hydrating cleanser), Elta MD pm, Cetaphil, Neutrogena hydro-boost, Kate Somerville ExfoliKate for exfoliant, any peptide based product for firming, hyaluronic acid is safe and a great hydrator, some Beauty Counter is good (just avoid Countertime and any others w Vit C and their retinol mimicking product). Ultimately just check the ingredients before use. Otherwise the pigment will turn gray/blue and is not always reversible!

Note:
It is normal to see color intensify before it lightens as well as to see intense redness in the pigment, this will subside. Also, the brows will feel much bigger in size as the skin is swollen and compromised. Your new brows will reduce in size AND color to a soft, natural, beautiful look!

If you have any unexpected problems with the healing of the skin, please contact Megan by Megan & Co at (317)790-2874.

Not quite ready for Microblading?

If you're not quite ready to invest in microblading or your brows are naturally full, but lack a defined look, sculpted and flawless look, one of our Brow Enhancement Services might be the right option for you.  Learn all about our Brow Enhancement services here!

HOW TO CARE FOR MICROBLADED BROWS

Like with a traditional tattoo, your brows will be most vulnerable about a week following the microblading treatment. You'll want to regularly clean your brows and apply ointment to ensure healthy healing and reduce the risk of infection. Like a normal tattoo, excess ultraviolet rays and lotions can cause the tattoo to fade prematurely. Be sure to read our FAQs for complete aftercare instructions.

 A SOLUTION FOR THINNING BROWS

Though comparing it to a tattoo is fair, it's far less painful and more finely imitates the delicate nature of your eyebrow hair. Your esthetician is trained to carefully use a microblading tool and will give you a look that's completely natural. If you need a solution to restore life and volume to your brows, give Brows by Megan & Co. a call today.
